Lokrum Island

Took a ferry over to Lokrum Island and spent half a day hiking around the interior and perimeter. The island can be seen is this photo.



The water around the island was clear as a swimming pool.



There were lots of wild peacock colonies all over the small island.






Apart from a few trails, a monastery, and some basic infrastructure, the island is pretty wild and fun to explore. Dense forrest extends to the abrupt and often steep edges of the island making for some dramatic views. Didn't pack any hiking shoes on my overall journey this summer, so I wore my flip-flops.
