Did I mention this place has an insane beer selection? The dense bottle menu is more than 1 cm thick. They serve the Lambic beer in large tumblers. Cool.

The head bartender was a real craftsman, an artist. He poured properly two beers at a time, tilting each bottle and glass set individually to varying degree according to the requirements of the particular beer style.

Behold... the bottle list.
I got there early, but in a few hours the place was bristling with activity. Good times.
The brews I had at Delirium included: 2006 Cantillon Doesjel, 2005 Cantillon Iris, De Struise Black Damnation III Black Mes, 2006 De Struise Pannepot Grand Reserva, and (wait for it...) 2004 Cantillon Lou Pepe Framboise.

Holy crap...You've already had the trip of a lifetime and you're only three days in! Cantillon behind the scenes field trip, Kulminator whales, and now the Delirium Cafe. Damn...
ReplyDeleteDocumenting it all in a blog is a really cool idea. Interesting for us back home, but such a great way to remember it all when you get back.
Have a great time, keep on updating, and cheers!
(or maybe should I say, Proost!)
Although we're back stateside, we're looking forward to living (and drinking) vicariously for the rest of the journey.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the recommendations and good times at Delerium- it definitely made our experience even more enjoyable.
Cheers,
Jake
